Lynnwood, Wash. – On Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at PNAA’s Aerospace Industry Awards for Excellence Banquet, Aero Law Group’s founder, Kevin Austin, was recognized with the PNAA Chairman’s Award. This award distinguishes the person, company or organization that has made the greatest contribution through innovation or growth, raising the standard of the Aerospace Industry in the Pacific Northwest. This year Austin was honored for his longtime support and dedication to the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance and to the industry as a whole. Austin joins a renowned group of past honorees including Dr. James Raisbeck, Chairman and Founder of Raisbeck Engineering, and Richard Aboulafia, the leading aviation industry analyst and Vice President of the Teal Group.
“They told us we were crazy when we decided to build a law firm that only did aircraft transactions. Yes, they were right; but we are still here 15 years later,” said Austin. “It is a great honor to receive this award and to be in the company of such great contributors to our industry.”
According to Austin, his career was highly influenced by former Boeing President and Chairman William M. Allen, with whom Austin had the opportunity to work on several occasions during Mr. Allen’s later years. Mr. Allen, himself an attorney and not an engineer, established ethical standards, corporate operating principals and a respect for employees that have influenced Austin throughout his career.
In addition to his support of the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance, Austin currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Flight in Mukilteo, WA. He is a member of the state bars of California, Colorado and Washington, the American Bar Association – Forum on Air and Space Law, and the National Business Aviation Association.
